STUDENTS LEAD TO INTERNATIONAL LINKS
A group of international students is visiting Scarborough to find out more about the worlds of fashion, IT and the chemical industry.
The students are on a scholarship awarded by their local and regional councils in conjunction with an internationally known centre. For textiles based in their home town near Milan.
Porzia Lillo, who is in charge of the group along with Emilia Persenico, said: "We’ve only been here a couple of days and we’re already delighted by the welcome we’ve received."
During their stay in the town the students will be visiting TK Maxx to find out more about fashion retailing and attending the TK Maxx charity fashion show.
They will also be visiting the Westwood campus of Yorkshire Coast College, where staff and students will be talking to them about textiles and IT.
Linda Poikowski, director of studies at Anglolang, in Avenue Road, where the students are based, said that the visit should lead to future international opportunities for the town.
